Too often consumers are being manipulated by the spruik of vested interests. There is no better example than what we hear from property developers about the investment performance of high rise apartment towers. The fact is these are terrible investments and always will be.
Over the previous 20 years Melbourne’s housing stock has increased dramatically due to the demands of population increase. This has lead to a greater variety of properties available. Established property, off the plan purchases, house and land packages and new builds are all ways of buying a home. Each one of these situations presents a unique set of complex challenges for buyers.
Over the last 35 years I have been involved in and observed a diverse range of transactions. The reality is consumers who don’t obtain independent professional assistance invariably pay more for their purchase or the property is not a best fit.
Off the plan and new builds are particularly problematic as you are buying a promise. My experience as a licensed estate agent and registered building practitioner has allowed me to successfully assist buyers through the twist and turns of these types of purchases.
